Dewey Murdick
Senior Advisor
As a Senior Advisor at Syntheos, Dewey Murdick focuses on Human-AI teaming in R&D problem articulation and program formulation. He is also a Professor of the Practice and Senior Fellow at Georgetown University, where he pioneers human-AI teaming in educational settings and researches how AI can be used to enhance critical thinking and lifelong learning.
His career has focused on using data-driven methods to help decision-makers analyze complex technology issues. Previously, Dewey served as Executive Director of Georgetown's Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET), where he formerly was Director of Data Science and Research. Earlier roles include Director of Science Analytics at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Deputy Chief Scientist at the Department of Homeland Security, and co-founding an office in anticipatory intelligence at the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA). His career also includes experience in intelligence analysis and custom software development across government and private sectors. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from the University of Virginia.
